Which password managers does ChatGPT recommend most?

In our August 2026 measurement, ChatGPT's most-recommended password managers brand is Bitwarden.

Do ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity agree on the best password managers?

Bitwarden leads the consensus this cycle. This cycle the four assistants are broadly aligned across the category.

How is this measured?

Every month we ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity a frozen panel of 50 real buyer questions about password managers, each phrased three ways and repeated three times. We detect which brands each answer mentions and explicitly recommends, then score every brand 0–100 with statistical confidence intervals. Nothing on this page is sponsored, and paying never affects a score.

One digest email per cycle, only when something statistically real happens — a new consensus pick, a brand the AIs stopped recommending.

Scores are 0–100 visibility scores with bootstrap 95% confidence intervals; mention and recommendation rates are averaged across the four core assistants. helloranked accepts no payment for placement — see the full methodology. Raw data is open (CC BY 4.0) on the data page.
